I've noticed that a lot of people who are new to the Deep Web end up using random onion links they find on Google, Reddit, or old forum posts. That's usually a bad idea. Many of those links are dead, some are fake, and others are just phishing copies.

Whenever I'm looking for a new onion service, I usually start with one of these directories instead of searching randomly. They're well-known in the community and are updated much more often than most link collections.
