BANCO DE MACHALA (ECUADOR) - MASSIVE BIOMETRIC DATA LEAK ​


Biometric System compromised (pwned) – Full access to customer database

The biometric authentication system of Banco de Machala has been breached, exposing over 100,000 biometric records of customers through the identity validation module.

The breach includes the complete customer database, as well as the image repository stored without proper protection.

LEAKED DATA INCLUDES:
• Biometric photographs (full face) of all customers as of May 1, 2026
• Photographs of identity cards
• Full names
• ID numbers
